While heading to the scene, officers were informed that a man with a gunshot wound had been located in the 2300 block of North Prospect Road in front of a residence.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with what police described as non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities said members of the Criminal Investigations Division, Crime Scene Unit, and Patrol Unit were called in to process the area and begin an investigation.
