Peoria, IL – An 18-year-old man was arrested Friday after Peoria police investigated reports of gunfire near McClure Avenue and Prospect Road.

According to the Peoria Police Department, officers responded at approximately 4:44 p.m. Friday, July 17, 2026, after receiving a ShotSpotter alert indicating that eight rounds had been fired in the area. Officers canvassed the neighborhood but did not initially locate any victims or suspects.

During the investigation, police identified 18-year-old Kemarey J. Davis-German as the person allegedly responsible for discharging the firearm.

According to police, officers later located Davis-German at a residence in the 1000 block of East McClure Avenue. He was taken into custody without incident.

Police said Davis-German was arrested on allegations of aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of firearm ammunition without a FOID card, and unlawful possession of a firearm without a valid FOID card.

Following his arrest, Davis-German was transported to the Peoria County Jail. The charges are allegations, and he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.

Authorities have not reported any injuries connected to the incident, and no additional information regarding a possible motive has been released.
