According to Peoria Police, the incident began around 11:25 p.m. Saturday when officers were dispatched to the 3400 block of West Oakcrest Drive after reports of gunfire and multiple victims. Responding officers located a 17-year-old male, unresponsive, inside an apartment. He had suffered gunshot wounds to the torso. First responders attempted lifesaving measures before the teen was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Police also located a 21-year-old male with gunshot wounds to his legs inside a nearby apartment. According to investigators, the man was taken to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
