According to the Peoria Police Department, officers were dispatched around 7:36 a.m. on October 1 to the 2400 block of North Sheridan Road after reports of gunfire. When officers arrived, they discovered the teen inside a residence with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
