Peoria, IL – A focused overnight law enforcement operation in West Peoria led to multiple arrests, citations, and drug seizures, according to local authorities.

According to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office, the FAST team conducted the detail from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 2 a.m. Thursday, deploying nine patrol cars and 19 deputies. Officials said Lt. Zook led the operation, with Captain Corpus and Sheriff Watkins on scene assisting throughout the effort.

Authorities reported a total of 55 traffic stops during the six-hour enforcement period. Those stops resulted in 16 citations and nine arrests. Of those taken into custody, five were allegedly connected to drug-related offenses, one was tied to an outstanding warrant, and three involved driving with a suspended license.

In addition to the arrests, deputies impounded five vehicles and seized crack cocaine during the operation. Officials noted that despite the high level of enforcement activity, there were no reported vehicle pursuits or injuries.

The operation was part of ongoing efforts to increase public safety and address crime trends in the West Peoria area, which sits within Peoria County and the greater Peoria metro region.
