Peoria, IL – Two juveniles were taken into custody late Saturday night after Peoria police responded to a reported motor vehicle theft in the 2000 block of W. Forrest Hill Avenue, according to a department release.

Around 11:40 p.m. on December 13, officers observed the stolen vehicle traveling southbound on N. Molloch Drive. Police say the suspects exited the vehicle and fled on foot when officers attempted a traffic stop.

Following a brief chase, officers apprehended a 16-year-old male near W. Fallen Oak and a 15-year-old near W. Sunburst Lane. A third suspect was not located.

According to Peoria Police, the 16-year-old was arrested for motor vehicle theft, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, resisting and obstructing a peace officer, possession of burglary tools, reckless driving, and other traffic violations. He was later released to his guardian.

The 15-year-old was arrested on an active warrant and transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.
