Philadelphia, PA– A developing winter storm will bring a sharp precipitation divide across the Mid-Atlantic on Tuesday, with snow targeting northwestern Pennsylvania highways while rain dominates near the coast and along I-95.

According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, snow is likely to accumulate northwest of the I-95 corridor, especially along major routes like I-78, Route 222, Route 422, and the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Places like Reading and Allentown could see slick, snow-covered roads during the morning commute, with some areas seeing an inch or more of accumulation.

Philadelphia, Trenton, and Wilmington will likely see cold rain with a brief chance of a wintry mix at the onset. Accumulating snow is not expected in these zones, with only a 20% or lower chance of measurable snowfall. The coastal plain and southern New Jersey, including Vineland and Atlantic City, are expected to stay all rain.

Commuters traveling I-81 and the PA Turnpike through Dauphin, Lebanon, and Berks counties should plan for slower travel and possible delays due to early snow. Motorists are advised to monitor conditions and leave extra time for Tuesday morning travel.

More updates will be issued as the system develops through the weekend, with final snow amounts and rain timing becoming clearer by Monday.
