Indiana, PA – Snow and gusty winds are creating hazardous travel conditions across higher elevations of Pennsylvania and West Virginia, with a Winter Weather Advisoryin effect until 3 p.m. Monday.

According to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, additional snow accumulations of up to one inch are expected in Indiana County, PA, and Preston and Eastern Monongalia counties in WV. Wind gusts could reach 40 mph in Pennsylvania and 35 mph in West Virginia, causing blowing snow and reduced visibility.

Roads, especially untreated surfaces, are likely to become slushy and icy as temperatures drop. Officials warn that localized snow bands could quickly coat roads, further impacting travel conditions.

Drivers should use caution, as the hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute. Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions.

Residents can report snow or ice accumulations to the National Weather Service Pittsburgh via phone at 412-262-1988, Facebook, or Twitter @NWSPittsburgh.
