Oklahoma City, OK – A winter weather advisory is in effect for much of Oklahoma and parts of northern Texas from late Monday night through Tuesday night, bringing a mix of snow, sleet, and ice that could make travel hazardous.
According to the National Weather Service in Norman, precipitation is expected to begin around midnight Monday, with snow and sleet accumulations up to two inches in some areas and ice accumulations reaching up to two-tenths of an inch. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph, further complicating road conditions.
The advisory covers central, northwest, southwest, and southern Oklahoma, including major cities like Oklahoma City, Norman, and Lawton, as well as parts of northern Texas. Slippery roads and reduced visibility could impact both morning and evening commutes on Tuesday.
