Pittsburgh, PA – A winter chill will linger through Friday, but a major warming trend is on the way for western Pennsylvania this weekend. After snow showers and subfreezing temperatures Thursday night, highs will steadily climb, reaching near 50 degrees by Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service, light snow is expected early Friday, tapering off by mid-morning. Highs will remain in the upper 20s with mostly cloudy skies. By Saturday, sunshine returns with temperatures reaching the mid-30s. Sunday will bring the biggest shift, with highs around 50 degrees, providing a break from the frigid conditions.

Overnight lows will also trend warmer, moving from the teens on Friday night to the upper 30s by Sunday. A slight chance of rain is expected late Monday, but the milder pattern will hold into early next week.

Drivers should watch for slick spots Friday morning before road conditions improve. Residents can expect a mix of sun and clouds through the weekend, making it a great time to enjoy outdoor activities.
