Johnstown, PA – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for Cambria County until 3 p.m. Monday as snow squalls and strong winds create hazardous travel conditions.

According to the National Weather Service in State College, frequent snow showers and brief heavier squalls could bring an additional coating to 2 inches of snow. Winds are expected to gust up to 55 mph, particularly on ridgetops and areas downwind of mountain gaps.

Officials warn that slippery road conditions and blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Drivers are urged to slow down and use caution, especially on exposed highways and elevated roads.

Residents should prepare for sudden whiteout conditions and secure outdoor objects that may be affected by strong winds. Travelers can check real-time road conditions by calling 511.
