Pennsylvania Weather Alert: Severe Storms Expected this Afternoon

Pittsburgh, PA – Pennsylvania faces a potential severe weather threat today, with the National Weather Service (NWS) issuing a level 2 alert for parts of the state. The conditions for severe storms are expected between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. with potential tornadoes and damaging winds, particularly in areas northeast of a line from Butler to Indiana, PA.

According to the NWS, the development of severe storms remains conditional. If storms materialize in the northern regions, the likelihood of a couple of tornadoes and strong winds increases. However, some northern areas may experience no severe weather development at all. Residents are advised to stay tuned for updates as the situation evolves.

Today’s forecast in Pittsburgh predicts a 50% chance of thunderstorms with temperatures peaking at 89 degrees. As the evening progresses, temperatures will drop to a low of 69 degrees. Clear skies are expected overnight with temperatures steady at 75 degrees.

Looking ahead, Thursday will bring partly cloudy skies with a high of 82 degrees and a low of 65 degrees. Friday promises sunny weather with a high of 89 degrees and a low of 63 degrees. The weekend will see warm temperatures, with Saturday reaching 91 degrees and Sunday slightly cooler at 90 degrees under mostly clear skies.

Early next week, Monday and Tuesday will continue the trend of high temperatures, both days peaking at 93 degrees. Rain chances increase slightly by Wednesday, with a 35% chance of showers and a high of 81 degrees.
