Philadelphia, Pa. – A refreshing stretch of summer weather will continue across eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and nearby Maryland through Monday, offering cool overnight temperatures, comfortable humidity and abundant sunshine before showers and thunderstorms return Tuesday.
According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, overnight lows will fall into the 50s across much of the region, with 40s possible in the higher elevations of the Poconos. Urban areas, Delmarva and coastal communities will remain slightly milder, with lows generally in the 60s.
Monday will bring another day very similar to Sunday, featuring low humidity, light winds and mostly sunny skies. Afternoon highs are expected to reach the lower to middle 80s across much of the region, including around 84 degrees in Philadelphia, 83 in Wilmington, 82 in Trenton, 81 in Morristown, 80 in Atlantic City, and 79 to 80 degrees along much of the New Jersey coast. The Poconos will remain cooler, with highs mainly in the 70s.
The pleasant conditions will make Monday an excellent day for outdoor activities, with no significant weather hazards expected. Residents can take advantage of the lower humidity before a more typical summertime pattern returns.
The National Weather Service expects showers and thunderstorms to redevelop Tuesday, bringing increasing cloud cover, higher humidity and the potential for periods of rain across the Mid-Atlantic. While Monday remains dry, residents with outdoor plans later in the week should monitor updated forecasts as the next weather system approaches.
