Pennsylvania State Police Investigate Abduction Attempt of 9-Year-Old Amish Boy

Walker Township, PA – A 9-year-old Amish boy escaped an alleged abduction attempt Tuesday afternoon in Juniata County, prompting Pennsylvania State Police to issue an urgent request for public assistance.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police Troop G – Lewistown Station, the incident occurred on September 16 between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. while the child was selling pumpkins from a stand along a roadway in Walker Township.

Authorities said a white male, described as being in his 30s with short dark hair, short facial hair, glasses, a gray long-sleeve shirt, and gray pants, purchased items from the stand before allegedly forcing the boy into his vehicle.

The victim was reportedly able to escape a few minutes later, fleeing into a nearby cornfield. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a white four-door SUV.

Police released surveillance images of the vehicle and are asking for help identifying the owner. Anyone with information is urged to contact PSP Lewistown at 717-320-1010 or call the PSP Tips line at 1-800-472-8477. Tips can also be submitted online at p3tips.com.

Officials note that callers to PSP Tips may be eligible for a cash reward if the information leads to an arrest or resolution in the case.
