According to state police, Miller, 22, was found dead on the morning of Sept. 18, 1978, inside her residence at 115 Spring Street in Nazareth Borough. Investigators said she had been stabbed and beaten to death. At the time, Miller lived at the home with her 10-month-old daughter.

Authorities reported Miller was employed at The Beer Stein Tavern in Wind Gap when the homicide occurred. She had also worked at Bethlehem Steel Corporation in Bethlehem and the Gracedale Nursing Home in Nazareth. A 1974 graduate of Nazareth High School, Miller was remembered as a young mother whose life was violently cut short.

The Pennsylvania State Police, Troop M in Bethlehem, along with the Criminal Investigative Assessment Unit, continue to actively investigate the case. Detectives emphasized that any information, even if it seems minor, could help lead to a breakthrough.
