Mount Holly, N.J. – Seasonable warmth and lower humidity levels are making a return across the Mid-Atlantic today, but parts of southern New Jersey and the Delmarva Peninsula may still see a brief thunderstorm before the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, Friday’s highs will range from the low to mid-80s across eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey, with slightly warmer conditions pushing into Maryland and Delaware. While most areas will enjoy mostly sunny skies, isolated showers or thunderstorms could develop between 2 and 8 p.m. across Cape May, Atlantic, and Cumberland counties, as well as parts of inland Delaware.
Philadelphia, Trenton, and Allentown are expected to remain dry, with humidity levels dropping to more comfortable levels than earlier in the week. Temperatures in Wilmington and Dover may peak around 86°F, making for a warm but manageable day outdoors.
Residents in southern zones should keep an umbrella handy during the late afternoon commute. Outdoor plans in coastal areas could be briefly interrupted, though widespread severe weather is not expected.
This marks a temporary break from recent mugginess. The weekend begins dry, but more unsettled conditions are possible by Sunday evening.
