Philadelphia, PA – A winter storm will impact Pennsylvania and New Jersey this weekend, bringing snow, ice, and heavy rain. The storm could create hazardous travel conditions and localized flooding.
According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, gusty winds will bring colder temperatures ahead of the storm. Snow is expected to begin Saturday afternoon, with accumulations of 1 to 4 inches northwest of I-95. Areas around Mount Pocono and Wantage could see the highest totals.
Ice accumulation up to 0.25 inches is possible in northern New Jersey and the Poconos. Freezing rain may create slick roads and power outages.
By Sunday, heavy rain will bring 1 to 1.5 inches of precipitation across the region, increasing the risk of flooding. Coastal and urban areas may experience standing water and travel delays.
Residents should monitor forecasts and prepare for changing conditions. Rain will taper off Sunday night, with cold temperatures lingering into next week.
