Paulding County, GA – A fruit stand in Paulding County turned into a drug crime scene Friday after the Northwest Georgia Drug Task Force reportedly uncovered 270 grams of methamphetamine during a bust on Due West Road.

According to the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office, the Task Force — including members of the Polk and Haralson County Sheriff’s Offices, Dallas Police, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation — executed a raid at the location, where agents discovered the narcotics hidden among produce.

Authorities said Melvin Stevens and Athena Alloway were arrested and charged with multiple counts of trafficking methamphetamine and possession. A third suspect, Crystal Ballweg, remains wanted on an outstanding warrant tied to the case.

The Sheriff’s Office used the incident to remind residents to report suspected drug activity and “keep your produce Georgia Farm Fresh and off ice,” warning of the dangers of meth trafficking and addiction.

Residents in Haralson, Polk, or Paulding Counties with information are encouraged to contact the Northwest Georgia Drug Task Force at (770) 646-9175 or submit anonymous tips via the Paulding Sheriff mobile app.
