Paragould, AR – A confirmed EF-2 tornado cut across northeast Arkansas early March 15, impacting areas from northern Craighead County to Greene County.

According to the National Weather Service in Memphis, the tornado began at 12:16 a.m. CST and lasted until 12:34 a.m., spanning 13.95 miles with peak winds of 125 mph. The storm’s maximum width reached 150 yards. Four people were reportedly injured, though no fatalities were recorded.

The damage survey confirmed that the tornado first touched down in Craighead County before moving northeast into the city of Paragould and continuing into Greene County. Local emergency crews responded to damaged homes and infrastructure, but no critical public services were disrupted.

Residents in the tornado’s path were alerted late March 14 as a strong storm system moved across the Mid-South. The twister formed under a rapidly intensifying supercell, typical during the state’s volatile spring weather season.

Officials urge Arkansans to remain alert throughout the severe weather season and to have access to multiple warning systems, including NOAA weather radios and mobile alerts. Emergency kits with flashlights, bottled water, and key documents should be prepared in advance of future storms.

The National Weather Service continues to monitor the region for additional storm development.
