Madison, WI – A pair of light rain and snow mix events are expected to impact southwestern Wisconsin beginning Tuesday evening and continuing into Wednesday night.

According to the US National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan, the first round of precipitation is expected to begin after 9 p.m. Tuesday, with lows dipping to near 31°F. A second system arrives Wednesday evening, increasing the chances of mixed precipitation, especially in the southwestern part of the state, with up to a 65% chance in some areas. No accumulations are expected during either event.

Inland areas across Wisconsin are expected to gradually warm through the end of the week. However, locations near Lake Michigan, particularly east-central and far-eastern Wisconsin, will remain cooler due to lake breeze influences. Highs on Thursday could reach 59°F in southern regions, while eastern areas will stay closer to the upper 40s.

Motorists in southwestern counties should be alert for wet or slick roads during evening and overnight hours. While snow accumulation isn’t forecast, visibility may drop briefly during active precipitation.

Residents are encouraged to monitor local alerts and use caution during the commute late Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Conditions will improve into Friday with warmer temperatures and possible thunderstorms.
