Light rain dots windshields across McCracken County this morning, and wet pavement glistens along I-24 and U.S. 60. Temperatures sit near 49 degrees, and scattered showers continue to drift across western Kentucky.

According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, a 50% chance of showers lingers early, then coverage drops sharply by late morning. Skies gradually brighten, and highs climb to around 60 degrees by afternoon. Roads remain damp through midday, so drivers should allow extra stopping distance.

Clouds clear tonight, and temperatures fall to near 35 degrees. That sets up a brisk start Friday, but sunshine quickly rebounds. Highs reach 67 degrees Friday and push to 71 degrees Saturday under mostly sunny skies. It will feel more like April than late February. After all, this is the kind of swing that hints at early spring vibes.

Changes arrive by Sunday. A cold front slides toward the lower Ohio Valley, bringing a renewed chance of showers. Highs ease back to near 51 degrees Sunday, then drop to the mid-30s Sunday night. While no snow is expected, cooler air will remind the region that March can still turn sharp.

Showers remain possible Monday with highs near 48, and a few additional rounds of rain could develop into midweek as the broader eastern trough holds firm. No severe weather is signaled now, but periodic rain may slow travel at times.

Looking ahead, longer-range trends suggest above-normal temperatures could return later next week. Spring warmth appears poised to build again as March unfolds.
