Little Rock, AR – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Little Rock has issued a Frost Advisory for a large portion of central, north-central, and western Arkansas. The advisory is in effect from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. CDT Friday, with temperatures expected to fall to around 34 degrees overnight.
According to the NWS, frost formation is likely across several counties, including Marion, Baxter, Izard, Boone, Logan, Yell, and Polk, as well as parts of the Arkansas River Valley and the Ozark Mountains. Clear skies and calm winds are expected to promote widespread frost by early morning.
Officials warn that sensitive outdoor vegetation could be damaged or killed if left uncovered. Residents are encouraged to cover plants, bring potted vegetation indoors, and prepare for the first significant frost event of the fall season.
This advisory marks another sign of cooler air settling across Arkansas heading into the first weekend of November.
