Ottawa, IL – An investigation is underway after two people were found shot, one fatality Tuesday evening.
According to LaSalle County sheriffs police reports it happened Tuesday at 4:48 PM when deputies arrived to a home on the E 1759th Rd. A female, unspecified age, with gunshot wounds was transported to OSF St. Elizabeth hospital for treatment. Inside the home, deputies found a man with a reported self-inflicted gunshot wound who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident is currently being investigated by the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division, alongside the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigation Unit and the LaSalle County Coroner’s Office. The names of the individuals involved are being withheld pending further investigation and notification of next of kin.
