Oswego residents should prepare for increased traffic congestion starting Thursday, June 13, due to PrairieFest activities. Motorists are advised to expect delays on Route 71 between Route 34 and Forest Avenue, Plainfield Road between Route 71 and Woolley Road, and in the downtown area on Sunday, June 16, between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. due to the PrairieFest Parade.
According to the Oswego Police Department, access to the Oswego High School south lot at Route 71 and Franklin Street will be closed to southbound traffic. Parking for the festival is available at the District 308 Transportation Center, Oswego High School, and Park District soccer fields. Increased police presence and additional security measures will be in place to ensure safety and enjoyment at PrairieFest.
