Orlando, Florida – Temperatures near 32 degrees are triggering a Frost Advisory across East Central Florida.
According to the US National Weather Service in Melbourne, a Frost Advisory remains in effect through 8 a.m. Wednesday for Lake, Volusia, Seminole, Orange, Brevard, Osceola, Indian River, Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties.
Overnight lows between 32 and 38 degrees are expected across inland and rural areas, with the coldest readings north and west of Orlando. Patchy frost may develop on exposed surfaces, especially in low-lying and sheltered locations.
Drivers along I-4, FL-408, I-95 and US-1 may notice frost on windshields and elevated surfaces early this morning. Officials advise allowing extra time to defrost vehicles before travel.
Residents are urged to protect sensitive plants, bring pets indoors and check on elderly neighbors. The advisory highlights near-freezing conditions primarily away from the immediate coastline.
Despite the chilly start, afternoon highs will rebound into the lower to mid-70s under dry conditions and light southwest winds. Cities including Orlando, Melbourne, Daytona Beach, Vero Beach and Port St. Lucie are forecast to see highs between 71 and 75 degrees.
In addition to the frost risk, a high risk of rip currents continues along Atlantic beaches, including Volusia and Brevard counties. Beachgoers are advised to remain out of the surf due to dangerous swimming conditions.
Warmer temperatures are expected Thursday, with highs climbing into the upper 70s and low 80s. Rain and storm chances increase Friday and Saturday.
Early commuters, students and agricultural workers should take precautions during the morning hours before temperatures rise above freezing.
