Chicago Ridge, IL – An Orland Park man faces multiple alleged felony charges after an incident at Signature Line Motorsports on Tuesday.
Police responded to reports of shots fired at 10005 S. Harlem Avenue around 1:21 a.m. Officers discovered that a tow truck driver, repossessing a vehicle, was reportedly forced to flee the scene after shots were fired. The suspect, identified as Mahyoub Dawabsha, 26, then allegedly abducted another employee at gunpoint and attempted to rob the business.
According to the Chicago Ridge Police Department, officers from Bridgeview assisted at the scene. They rescued the victim, who was unharmed, and apprehended Dawabsha inside the business. Officers recovered a loaded firearm from the scene.
The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office approved felony charges against Dawabsha. He faces charges of aggravated kidnapping, armed robbery, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and aggravated assault. The investigation remains ongoing.
