Orland Park, IL – The 36th annual Orland Park Turkey Trot returns on Thursday, November 28, 2024, bringing a beloved Thanksgiving tradition back to the community. The event kicks off with a 6:30 a.m. check-in at Franklin Loebe Center for those who need to pick up their race packets, and the race begins at 8:00 a.m. sharp.

According to Orland Park Recreation, the 2.5-mile chip-timed race is open to all participants, including runners and walkers. The course takes participants through the streets and paths of Orland Park, offering a brisk start to the holiday.

Racers must register by November 15 or when spots fill up. All participants will receive a long-sleeve dri-fit race shirt, and the top three finishers in 14 different age categories will win a prize turkey. Registration is priced at $25 for residents and $30 for non-residents, with a $4 discount available for residents who register early.

The race has become a holiday mainstay in the area, with families and friends using it as an opportunity to gather before their Thanksgiving feasts. Event organizers encourage early registration as the event fills up fast.
