Medford, OR – Significant rainfall is set to bring potential flooding to areas across southern Oregon starting Saturday. The National Weather Service warns of heavy precipitation, with Coos and Curry counties at heightened risk.

According to the National Weather Service, the heaviest rain will fall Saturday night into Sunday, increasing the potential for flash flooding and swollen rivers. The Rogue River near Agness is forecast to reach minor flood stage by Sunday morning, while the Coquille River could hit moderate flood stage by Sunday afternoon. Residents should monitor river conditions and avoid traveling through flooded areas.

A wind advisory is also in effect for Jackson County through early Friday morning, with gusts up to 45 mph likely. This storm will also bring 2-5 inches of rain across west side valleys, with higher totals expected in mountain regions.

Looking ahead, rain continues into Monday, with cooler temperatures and snow possible in higher elevations Tuesday.
