Washington County, OR – A suspected highway shooter is in custody following an early morning incident in Washington County that left two individuals injured and authorities asking for public help.
According to the Oregon State Police, the shooting took place Wednesday between 5 and 7 a.m. on southbound Interstate 5, between mileposts 288 and 286, near the Interstate 205 and Elligsen Road exits. Investigators say a suspect allegedly fired at moving vehicles from the side of the highway. Two victims have been identified, but no further details about their conditions have been released.
Authorities confirmed that the suspect is in custody and there is currently no active threat to the public. However, police are continuing their investigation and are asking for assistance from anyone who may have witnessed the event or may have additional information.
OSP is urging those with knowledge about the incident to call their dispatch center at 800-422-0776 and refer to case number SP25-179255.
