Medford, OR – A flood watch remains in effect for the South Central Oregon Coast and Curry County Coast from 4 a.m. PST Sunday through Monday morning, as heavy rainfall raises concerns of potential flooding in low-lying areas.

According to the National Weather Service in Medford, an atmospheric river will bring moderate to heavy rain to the region, increasing the risk of rivers, creeks, and streams overflowing. Areas in Coos County, Curry County, and extreme western Douglas County—including Coos Bay, Bandon, Brookings, and Gold Beach—may experience flooding.

Officials warn that excessive runoff could lead to hazardous conditions, particularly in flood-prone locations. Streams and creeks already running high may rise above their banks as the rain continues.

Residents should stay alert for possible flood warnings and be prepared to take action if conditions worsen. The National Weather Service advises monitoring updates and avoiding travel through flooded roadways.
