Spokane, WA – A Flood Watch remains in effect for parts of Idaho and Washington as heavy rain threatens to push rivers past critical levels, leading to potential flooding in low-lying areas.

According to the National Weather Service, the Palouse River near Potlatch, affecting Latah and Whitman counties, could reach flood stage by Sunday night. Paradise Creek at Moscow has already triggered a River Flood Warning, increasing the risk of localized flooding. The Potlatch softball fields and parks in Palouse are among the areas at risk.

In western Washington, a Flood Watch continues through Tuesday night, covering King, Pierce, Snohomish, and Thurston counties, among others. An atmospheric river is expected to bring 3 to 5 inches of rain, with snow levels rising above 7,000 feet, increasing runoff into rivers.

Residents in affected areas should remain vigilant, monitor river levels, and be prepared to take action if conditions worsen. For updated alerts, visit www.weather.gov.
