Pendleton, OR – Strong winds are set to impact parts of Oregon and Washington starting Monday afternoon, with gusts reaching up to 65 mph in some areas.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Pendleton, a High Wind Warning is in effect from Monday at 1 p.m. to Tuesday at 4 p.m. for North Central Oregon, the Foothills of the Southern Blue Mountains, and the Simcoe Highlands in Washington. Southwest winds will range from 25 to 35 mph, with gusts between 50 and 65 mph.

A separate warning covers Central Oregon, including Madras, Prineville, Bend, and Redmond, from 11 a.m. Monday until 4 p.m. Tuesday, with winds up to 60 mph.

The NWS warns that damaging winds may cause power outages, downed trees, and hazardous travel conditions, particularly for high-profile vehicles. Residents should remain indoors, avoid windows, and exercise caution while driving.
