Orangeburg, SC – A Holly Hill man has been charged in connection with a deadly October drive-by shooting that left one person dead, according to the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office. The case centers on a violent attack investigators say unfolded along Gabby Hall Court in Holly Hill.
According to Sheriff Leroy Ravenell, 23-year-old Abion Brown has been charged with the alleged murder of 28-year-old Jordan Walters. Ravenell described the incident as a “senseless act” that resulted in the loss of a life and another young man “throwing his life away.”
Investigators were called to a residence on Gabby Hall Court on Oct. 19 after reports of gunfire. According to the sheriff’s office, witnesses said a white vehicle allegedly drove past the victim’s car before someone inside fired a weapon into the vehicle. Walters later died from his injuries.
Deputies said Brown, of Fourwind Road, was taken into custody Monday. According to authorities, he was expected to appear in court Tuesday afternoon for a hearing where his rights would be formally presented.
The sheriff’s office has not released additional information on a motive or whether investigators believe others may have been involved. The case remains under review as detectives continue gathering witness statements and evidence tied to the October shooting.
Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office or submit a tip through Crime Stoppers.
