Tulsa, OK – After days of extreme cold, temperatures across Oklahoma are set to rise heading into the weekend. Residents can expect relief from dangerously low wind chills, with highs reaching the 40s by Saturday and 50s on Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service, the Extreme Cold Warning remains in effect until noon Thursday, with wind chills as low as -20°F in parts of northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. However, Friday will bring mostly clear skies and a high near 30°F, marking the start of a warming trend.

By Saturday, temperatures will climb into the low 40s, with sunshine expected throughout the day. Sunday will see even warmer conditions, with highs in the mid-50s. Overnight lows will still dip below freezing, so residents should take precautions to prevent frozen pipes.

While no additional weather hazards are expected, authorities urge residents to check on vulnerable individuals still recovering from the extreme cold. Wind speeds will remain light, making for a pleasant weekend.

Expect continued warming into early next week, with highs approaching the upper 60s by Tuesday. Stay updated on changing conditions through local weather alerts.
