Tulsa, OK – A significant winter storm is set to impact northeast Oklahoma starting Tuesday, bringing heavy snow, ice, and dangerously cold temperatures. Forecasters warn that hazardous road conditions, including along I-44, could make travel difficult, particularly during the morning and evening commutes.

According to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, a Winter Storm Watch is in effect from Tuesday morning through late Tuesday night. Snowfall between 3 to 8 inches is expected, along with ice accumulations up to one-tenth of an inch. Winds could gust up to 35 mph, creating near-whiteout conditions. By Wednesday, high temperatures will struggle to reach the low teens, with wind chills plunging well below zero.

Motorists should prepare for difficult travel conditions and allow extra time for commutes. Power outages and tree damage are possible due to ice and wind. Residents are urged to stock up on essentials and check local updates frequently.

The bitter cold will persist through Friday, with dangerously low wind chills continuing. Stay tuned for further updates as the storm approaches.
