Tulsa, OK – Severe thunderstorms will move across eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas starting late Monday night, bringing damaging winds, large hail, and a tornado risk.
According to the National Weather Service Tulsa, storms will develop west of the region before intensifying overnight. The strongest storms are expected between 2 a.m. and 11 a.m. Tuesday. Wind gusts could reach 80 mph, and hail up to golf ball size is possible. A limited tornado risk exists early Tuesday.
Storms will track eastward, affecting Tulsa, Muskogee, Okmulgee, and McAlester before moving into Arkansas by midday. Residents should prepare for power outages, localized flooding, and hazardous travel.
Officials urge Oklahomans to secure loose objects, charge electronics, and have multiple ways to receive weather alerts. Stay indoors during severe weather and avoid travel if possible.
