The greatest potential for severe weather is expected during the afternoon hours on both days. Gusty winds and locally heavy rain are possible with the stronger showers and thunderstorm activity.
On Friday, storm chances will spread across eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas from 1 PM to 7 PM, remaining elevated through the night until 7 AM Saturday. The risk for severe storms will increase on Saturday from 10 AM to 7 PM, with areas in northeastern Oklahoma and northwestern Arkansas experiencing the highest probability of severe weather.
Potential hazards include dangerous lightning, gusty winds, and heavy rainfall, which could lead to localized flooding. A slight chance (20%) of storms will continue into Saturday night for northwest Arkansas.
