Tulsa, OK – Residents of Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas should prepare for possible severe weather this weekend. Showers and storms are likely, especially on Saturday afternoon, as an area of low pressure moves across the region. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Tulsa warns that these storms could bring dangerous lightning, strong winds, and locally heavy rainfall.

According to the NWS, the timing of the highest storm potential is between 1 PM and 7 PM on Saturday. Areas such as Tulsa, Muskogee, and Fayetteville are expected to experience a 40-50% chance of thunderstorms, with slightly lower probabilities extending to surrounding regions.

Following Saturday’s storms, the forecast indicates a return to hot and clear conditions. Sunday’s high is expected to reach 95°F, with temperatures climbing further as the week progresses. By Monday, the high is forecasted at 99°F, and temperatures are set to surpass 100°F on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, peaking at 101°F on Tuesday.
