Warm air is surging into northeast Oklahoma this morning, and Tulsa is already shaking off the chill under partly sunny skies. By midday, temperatures will climb quickly, and the wind will begin to stir.

According to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, highs reach near 81 degrees today with south winds increasing to 15 to 20 mph and gusts as high as 30 mph. That warmth marks the start of an active stretch of March weather across Green Country.

Rain chances ramp up tonight, with showers likely and a possible thunderstorm after midnight. Winds may gust up to 25 mph as moisture deepens. By Wednesday, showers and thunderstorms become more widespread, with an 80% chance of rain and highs cooling to the upper 50s.

Storm chances continue into Wednesday night and Thursday. Heavy rain and gusty winds may accompany stronger cells. Rain probabilities hover between 50% and 60% Thursday into Friday, with additional thunderstorms possible. Plan for wet roads along U.S. 75 and the Creek Turnpike during heavier downpours.

Friday keeps showers in the picture, and Friday night carries an 80% chance of rain before a cold front moves through Saturday. Temperatures fall back into the 60s by Saturday afternoon, signaling a brief cooldown.

Looking ahead, above-normal temperatures are favored again into early next week as the 6–10 day outlook trends warmer. Spring warmth is not finished yet.

Clocks spring ahead at 2 a.m. Sunday morning, March 8. Longer daylight arrives just as this active weather pattern unfolds.
