Wilmington, OH – A calm weekend with temperatures in the 50s and 60s will give way to a potentially dangerous storm system later this week. The National Weather Service is tracking a mid-to-late week storm that could bring damaging winds, rain, and snow showers, posing travel risks across southwestern Ohio and beyond.
According to the National Weather Service, Sunday will remain partly sunny, with highs reaching 60 degrees in Wilmington. However, by late Monday, rain chances increase, and showers are likely to persist into Tuesday, with a high near 66. Wind speeds are expected to pick up Tuesday night as the storm system strengthens. By Wednesday, rain is forecast to transition into snow showers overnight, with temperatures plummeting to the low 30s.
Motorists are urged to plan ahead as Wednesday’s conditions could include slick roads and gusty winds. Areas along State Route 73 and other key highways may face reduced visibility. The NWS advises monitoring forecasts and preparing for delays during midweek travel.
Looking ahead, Thursday could bring continued snow showers with a high near 36, followed by cooler, drier conditions into the weekend.
