Columbus, OH – Severe flooding continues to affect large parts of Ohio, with ongoing high-impact conditions across the state. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a warning for further rainfall and thunderstorms in the coming days.
According to the NWS Ohio River Forecast Center, rainfall amounts are expected to be modest, with totals generally ranging between 0.25 and 1 inch, over the next three days. While this precipitation is unlikely to cause new flooding, it could lead to slower receding river levels and minor rises in areas already affected by flooding.
This widespread flooding has caused major river flooding, but experts say it should not result in new river flooding. However, scattered thunderstorms could cause localized issues, particularly in low-lying areas.
Residents are advised to continue monitoring local weather updates and follow any instructions from authorities, particularly regarding travel and safety around flooded areas.
