Cleveland, OH – A wintry mix will hit northeast Ohio today, creating slick roads on major highways like I-90 and I-77. Drivers should prepare for hazardous conditions as freezing rain, sleet, and snow transition to rain by afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, light accumulations of ice and snow are possible early today before temperatures rise, bringing rain. The wintry mix could cause slippery conditions on untreated surfaces, making morning commutes difficult. By late afternoon, precipitation will shift to rain as warmer air moves in.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy, with a slight chance of rain showers before 9 p.m. Lows will dip to 36°F. The first full week of February starts with mostly cloudy skies Monday and highs near 51°F. Rain chances return Monday night into Tuesday, with temperatures dropping to the upper 20s.

By midweek, a mix of rain and snow could develop, with highs in the low 30s. Thursday may bring more rain, followed by dry conditions Friday.

Stay updated with Ohio DOT for road conditions. If traveling today, use extra caution on bridges and overpasses, which may freeze first.
