Wilmington, OH — Rain is expected to soak the Ohio Valley tonight, followed by a shift to colder temperatures and potential snow midweek. Residents should prepare for slick roads and possible delays as winter weather approaches.

The National Weather Service reports rain will begin late tonight, primarily after 9 p.m., and continue through Monday morning, with rainfall totals between 0.5 to 1 inch. Monday will remain damp with drizzle into the afternoon, as temperatures climb to 55°F. However, colder air moves into the region by Tuesday night, bringing snow chances to the Ohio Valley by Wednesday morning.

By midweek, temperatures will drop significantly, with highs around 31°F on Wednesday and a low of 16°F overnight. Snowfall is expected to begin during the early hours Wednesday, with light accumulation possible, particularly on untreated roads. Commuters should anticipate delays and exercise caution, especially along major corridors like I-75 and I-71.

The extended forecast shows drier but frigid conditions by Thursday, with sunny skies but a high of just 27°F. Residents are encouraged to prepare winter essentials, such as shovels, de-icers, and warm clothing, ahead of Wednesday’s snow chances.

Motorists should stay alert for updated road conditions and weather advisories. The National Weather Service advises monitoring forecasts as snow potential evolves.
