Paducah, KY – A steady, soaking rain will continue through much of Wednesday as a low-pressure system moves across the lower Ohio Valley, according to the National Weather Service in Paducah.

Rainfall totals of 1 to 1.5 inches are expected across western Kentucky, southern Illinois, and southeast Missouri, including Paducah, Cape Girardeau, and Owensboro. The heaviest rain will occur through Wednesday evening, with conditions improving after midnight as the system exits eastward.

Forecasters note that no flooding is expected, though some low-lying and poorly drained areas could see brief ponding of water. Rain chances will end early Thursday morning, giving way to dry and partly sunny conditions later in the day.

Temperatures will stay below normal, with highs in the 50s and overnight lows dipping into the 30s and low 40s through the weekend. Halloween Friday is expected to be cool but mostly dry, offering favorable conditions for outdoor events and trick-or-treating.
