Maximum heat indices for Tuesday are predicted to reach up to 103°F in Carrollton and 102°F in Butler, with other areas experiencing temperatures in the upper 80s to 90s.
By Wednesday, the heat index is expected to rise even further, with Dayton seeing a peak of 100°F, while areas like Hamilton and Richmond could reach up to 106°F. The NWS has also warned of potential flooding due to the ongoing storms, which have already transitioned to flooding threats with gusty winds.
Residents are advised to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun. With temperatures soaring, precautionary measures such as checking on vulnerable individuals and ensuring pets have adequate water and shade are crucial.
