Cincinnati, OH – Residents across the Ohio Valley should prepare for a wet weekend as a cold front moves through the region, bringing widespread rainfall from tonight through Sunday.
According to the National Weather Service’s Ohio River Forecast Center, rainfall totals will be highest in parts of Illinois and Indiana, where up to 3 inches are expected, with locally higher amounts possible. The heaviest rain is forecast through Sunday morning, October 20, 2025.
Meteorologists note that the areas expecting the most rainfall are also among the driest in the basin this month, which could limit flood impacts. However, brief flash flooding remains possible in low-lying or poor-drainage areas. No river flooding is currently forecast.
Much of Ohio, Kentucky, and western Pennsylvania will also see measurable rainfall, though totals are expected to range from 0.5 to 1.5 inches. Cooler air will follow the front, bringing a notable drop in temperatures by early next week.
Residents are urged to monitor local forecasts and use caution while traveling, as ponding and slick roads may develop during heavier downpours.
