Wilmington, OH – Light snow is sweeping into the Wilmington area this morning, creating hazardous driving conditions for local commuters. The National Weather Service (NWS) reports that snow accumulations could reach up to half an inch on untreated roads, increasing the risk of slick spots during rush hour. Drivers are advised to slow down and allow extra time to reach their destinations.

According to the NWS, snow showers are expected to taper off by mid-afternoon, though scattered flurries may persist intermittently. Today’s high will reach 32°F, with wind gusts up to 28 mph adding to the chill. Tonight, temperatures will drop to 22°F under mostly cloudy skies, and scattered flurries may continue through the evening.

Looking ahead, Friday will bring patchy fog early before turning mostly sunny with a high near 35°F. However, a stronger weather system is forecast to move in Friday night, bringing rain mixed with snow and high winds. Saturday will see rain turning back to snow, with temperatures falling sharply by evening. Sunday’s high is predicted to be a frigid 20°F, with Monday bringing even colder conditions and single-digit wind chills.

Residents are urged to prepare for rapidly changing weather this weekend and keep a close eye on forecasts. If traveling, pack an emergency kit, and check road conditions before heading out.
