Cincinnati, Ohio – Scattered rain and a few storms are sweeping across the Ohio Valley today, but widespread flooding concerns are easing, especially in parts of southern Indiana and western Kentucky.

According to the Ohio River Forecast Center, a cold front is pushing eastward Monday, delivering rainfall totals generally under 1 inch. Most areas will see a few tenths of an inch, with isolated 0.5–1″ pockets where thunderstorms develop. The rain should taper off overnight, leading into a mostly dry stretch for the rest of the week.

Floodwaters that lingered across southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, and western Kentucky are now receding. While isolated rivers remain at or near action stage, most forecast points are below flood levels. No new flooding is expected from today’s rainfall.

Cities including Evansville, Paducah, and Owensboro may still see brief localized impacts where rivers remain elevated. Residents are advised to avoid low-lying roads near waterways and monitor any riverfront property. Emergency crews continue to monitor the situation, but no additional evacuations or closures have been reported.

Conditions should improve further by Tuesday afternoon, with cooler, drier air moving in. The Ohio River Forecast Center says no additional alerts are planned unless rainfall trends change.
