Boise, Idaho – After a cool and breezy start to the week, Idaho residents can expect a noticeable warm-up, with lower valley highs climbing into the low 70s by Thursday and Friday. The National Weather Service in Boise says a weekend cooldown and the potential for showers will follow, bringing a brief pause to the spring-like stretch.

According to the NWS, daytime highs across southern and southwestern Idaho will gradually increase midweek, peaking Thursday and Friday with temperatures between 68°F and 73°F in cities like Boise, Nampa, Mountain Home, and Twin Falls. Overnight lows will range from the upper 30s to mid-40s. However, by Saturday, cooler air returns, with highs dipping into the 50s and 60s and a chance of precipitation moving in from the west.

Mountain towns including McCall, Stanley, and Sun Valley will see highs in the 40s and 50s through Friday, followed by cooler, wetter conditions over the weekend. Higher elevation roads such as Banner Summit and Mores Creek Summit could become slick if light snow mixes in overnight.

Drivers and outdoor enthusiasts should plan accordingly—carry extra layers, check local travel conditions, and expect potential changes in road traction by Saturday morning.

Another update is expected by Thursday as weekend rain chances become clearer.
