Cleveland, Ohio – Showers will sweep across eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania Sunday, with locally heavy rainfall likely along the US 30 corridor from early morning through mid-afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, rain will begin around daybreak near a Toledo-to-Mansfield line before spreading northeast into far NE Ohio and parts of NW Pennsylvania by midday. Most areas will see light rainfall of 0.25 inch or less, but isolated pockets near US 30 could receive between 0.50 and 1 inch.
Cities including Canton, Youngstown, and Ashtabula may see steady showers throughout the morning, with conditions easing later in the day. In western Pennsylvania, areas near Erie and Meadville are likely to get rain by early afternoon, potentially impacting weekend travel along I-80 and I-79.
Drivers should watch for slick roads, especially in low-lying or poorly drained areas. Residents are advised to monitor storm drains and secure outdoor items, as heavier downpours may create brief localized flooding.
The heaviest rain should taper off by late Sunday, but updated advisories may be issued if totals climb higher along the Ohio-Pennsylvania line.
